Forage Rape (Brassica napus), also called Oilseed Rape, Rapeseed, Colza, or Canola (low-erucic-acid varieties), is an annual brassica grown for fast, economical forage. It produces dense, upright, leafy growth (2–4 ft) that's grazing-ready in as little as 6–8 weeks — one of the fastest forage crops there is. The leaves and stems are high-protein (about 15–20% crude protein) and highly palatable for cattle, sheep, goats, and deer.
