Product Description

When the Leaves Yellow Between the Veins — Pure Magnesium and Sulfur, Ready to Dissolve

Old Cobblers Farm Wicked Organics Magnesium Sulfate is Epsom salt in its purest garden form: magnesium sulfate heptahydrate (MgSO₄·7H₂O), a single defined compound with a guaranteed 9.8% magnesium and 12.9% sulfur. It is not an N-P-K fertilizer — it is a targeted supplement for two essential nutrients plants can't make leaves and proteins without. Magnesium sits at the center of every chlorophyll molecule, so a shortage shows up as a telltale pattern: interveinal chlorosis — yellowing between the veins of older leaves while the veins stay green. Sulfur backs the amino acids and enzymes behind healthy growth.

Key Benefits

Greens up deficient leaves — Magnesium is the core of chlorophyll — correcting a shortage restores green color and reverses the interveinal yellowing of older leaves.

Magnesium AND sulfur — Two essential nutrients at once: magnesium for photosynthesis and sulfur for the amino acids and enzymes behind healthy growth.

Works fast, applies any way — Fully water-soluble, so it dissolves for foliar sprays and drenches that act within days — or mixes dry into soil.

Made for Mg-hungry plants — The trusted fix for tomatoes, peppers, roses, and blueberries, and for the sandy, high-potassium, or rain-leached soils that lose magnesium fastest.

Pure and predictable — A single defined compound with guaranteed minimums that match the chemistry — no guesswork, no fillers.

Organic or conventional — Suitable across organic and conventional programs as a clean, targeted nutrient source.

Because it's fully water-soluble, it works fast and flexibly: mix it into soil at startup, dissolve it for a foliar spray that greens leaves within days, drench the root zone, or run it through fertigation. It's the classic fix for magnesium-hungry favorites — tomatoes, peppers, roses, and blueberries — and for the soils that lose magnesium fastest: sandy ground, high-potassium soils, and beds leached by heavy rain. The honest caveat that keeps it credible: magnesium sulfate corrects a magnesium (or sulfur) deficiency. Where there's no deficiency, more won't help — so a soil test or the clear interveinal-yellowing symptom should guide its use.

Where to use it: vegetables (especially tomatoes and peppers), roses and flowering ornamentals, evergreens and acid lovers, fruit trees, lawns, containers and houseplants, and any magnesium- or sulfur-deficient soil — across organic and conventional programs.

Application Instructions

-Garden startup: 1 cup per 100 sq ft, mixed into the soil
-Tomatoes & peppers: 1 teaspoon per foot of plant height, every 2 weeks
-Roses: ½ cup per plant, spring and fall
-Evergreens/azaleas/rhododendrons: 1 tablespoon per 9 sq ft, every 2–4 weeks
-Trees: 2 tablespoons per 9 sq ft, every 4 months
-Lawns: 3 lbs per 1,250 sq ft (about ½ lb per 100 sq ft)
-Foliar spray: 2 tablespoons per gallon of water, every 2 weeks
-Houseplants: 1 teaspoon per gallon of water, every 1–4 weeks
Steps:
1. Confirm the need — look for interveinal yellowing on older leaves, or check a soil test. Magnesium sulfate corrects a deficiency; it isn't a routine feed.
2. Choose the method: dissolve in water for a foliar spray or drench (fastest visible greening), or mix the dry salt into soil.
3. Apply at the rate for your plant or area; for foliar sprays, coat the leaves evenly.
4. Water in soil applications. Repeat on the listed cadence while symptoms persist.
When and how often: as needed to correct deficiency — every 2 weeks for actively feeding tomatoes/peppers and foliar sprays, spring and fall for roses, less often for trees.
What NOT to do: do not use it to treat blossom-end rot (that's a calcium issue, not magnesium), do not apply where no deficiency exists expecting a boost, and do not exceed foliar rates — concentrated sprays can mark leaves.
