One Honest All-Purpose Feed — Tomatoes, Vegetables, Lawns, and Trees
Old Cobblers Farm Wicked Organics Garden & Tomato is a blended, all-purpose organic fertilizer with a balanced 5-3-4 analysis — enough nitrogen to genuinely feed growth, with phosphorus for roots and flowering and potassium for fruit quality and stress tolerance. It's the do-most-things feed in the organic line: moderate, even nutrition for vegetable gardens and tomatoes, lawns, trees, and beds. The nitrogen is split, and weighted toward the slow side — of the 5% total, 3.5% is water-insoluble and released gradually by soil microbes, with 1.5% water-soluble for a quicker start — so you get both prompt response and steady, season-long feeding without the flush or burn of a synthetic.
On tomatoes and fruiting vegetables, it supports fruit set and quality fed in at planting and side-dressed monthly through the season; on lawns, spring and fall applications support deep roots and color; on trees and beds, it builds the long-term soil fertility that perennial plantings draw on. Because it's protein-and-mineral based, it also feeds the soil microbes that cycle nutrients and build darker, richer soil over the seasons.
A note on tomatoes specifically: a balanced feed like this supports healthy, productive plants, but it does not prevent blossom-end rot — that's a calcium-and-watering problem, not a fertilizer one, best managed with consistent moisture and adequate calcium. One ingredient note: this blend contains animal protein meals, so it is not a vegan product.
Key Benefits
True all-purpose feed — A balanced 5-3-4 with enough nitrogen to genuinely feed growth, plus phosphorus and potassium — one feed for vegetables, tomatoes, lawns, trees, and beds.
Slow-release with a quick start — Of the 5% nitrogen, 3.5% is water-insoluble and released slowly by soil microbes, with 1.5% soluble for a quicker start — prompt response and season-long feeding both.
Supports fruiting crops — Fed in at planting and side-dressed monthly, it supports fruit set and quality on tomatoes and fruiting vegetables.
Builds soil over time — Protein-and-mineral inputs feed the soil microbes that cycle nutrients and build darker, richer soil over the seasons.
No flush, no burn — Gentle release means no flush or burn at the listed rates — safe across the garden and lawn.
Lawns too — Spring and fall lawn feedings support deep roots and steady green color.
Where to use it: vegetables, tomatoes, peppers, and small fruits; lawns and turf; fruit, shade, and nursery trees; farm fields; and landscape and ornamental beds.
Application Instructions
Application Instructions
-Tomatoes: 1–2 tablespoons per planting hole; side-dress 2–3 oz per plant monthly
-Lawns: 20–30 lbs per 1,000 sq ft (spring and fall)
-Containers: 2–3 tablespoons per gallon; top-dress monthly
Steps:
1. At planting, work it into the soil or planting hole; for established plants, side-dress around the base and lightly incorporate.
2. For lawns, broadcast evenly in spring and fall.
3.Water thoroughly after application to move nutrients into the root zone and start the microbial breakdown.
4. Side-dress tomatoes and heavy feeders monthly through the season; lawns twice a year. The slow-release character means you don't need frequent reapplications.
When and how often: at planting and spring for gardens/lawns; monthly side-dress for tomatoes and heavy feeders; spring and fall for lawns.
What NOT to do: do not rely on it to prevent blossom-end rot (manage calcium and consistent watering for that), do not pile it against stems or trunks, and incorporate/water in rather than leaving it on the surface.
Ingredients
Ingredients
-Natural Sulfate of Potash — Natural potassium source for the 4% potash (fruit quality, stress tolerance).
-Phosphate Rock — Natural, slow-available phosphorus source for roots and flowering — it releases gradually rather than all at once.
-Vegetable Protein Meals — Slow-release organic nitrogen from plant proteins, released by microbial breakdown.
-Animal Protein Meals — Additional slow-release organic nitrogen from animal proteins. (Animal-derived; this product is not vegan.)
-Natural Nitrate of Soda — A natural nitrate source contributing the water-soluble nitrogen for a quicker start.
