Product Description

All-Natural, Slow-Release Nutrition for Stress-Tolerant, Lush Growth

Old Cobblers Farm™ Wicked Organics 8-3-5 is an all-natural, slow-release fertilizer for lawns, landscape plantings, ornamentals and vegetable gardens. It is made from organic ingredients — feather meal, meat & bone meal, blood meal and langbeinite — that feed plants gradually as soil microbes break them down. The 8-3-5 ratio supplies 8% nitrogen for steady growth, 3% phosphorus for roots and flowering, and 5% potassium for stress resilience and overall vigor.

Most of the nitrogen (about 7.2%) is water-insoluble, which means it releases slowly for long-lasting growth and gentle color — without the surge, and risk of burn, that comes with quick-release synthetic nitrogen. The blend also supplies calcium (~3%), magnesium (~2.2%) and sulfur (~4%) to support cell-wall strength, chlorophyll and healthy metabolism. Because the potassium comes from langbeinite, a sulfate source, the formula is chloride-free.

Where to use it: lawns and turf (including before summer heat or after core aeration), landscape beds and ornamentals, vegetable gardens and raised beds, and warm-season grasses and high-wear areas.

Key Benefits

Steady, Gentle Green-Up: Slow-release organic nitrogen feeds gradually for color without surges, with very low burn risk.

Better Stress Tolerance: Potassium plus calcium, magnesium and sulfur help plants handle heat, drought and wear.

Stronger, Deeper Roots: Phosphorus and steady feeding support resilient root systems that reach moisture.

Healthier Soil Over Time: Organic inputs feed soil biology and add organic matter for long-term fertility.

Documented Secondary Minerals: Guaranteed calcium (~3%), magnesium (~2.2%) and sulfur (~4%).

Chloride-Free: Potassium from langbeinite (a sulfate source), so no muriate or chloride.

Versatile Across the Yard: One product for lawns, beds, ornamentals and vegetables.

Best Uses

Turfgrass and sports fields (before summer heat or after core aeration; overseeding and renovation)

Landscape beds and ornamentals (annuals, perennials, flowering shrubs)

Vegetable gardens and raised beds (including heavy feeders)

  Warm-season grasses and high-wear / high-traffic areas

Important Notes / Safety

Soil Test First: Always test your soil before applying any fertilizer. Over-application can harm plants and the environment.

Organic / Wicked Organics: This is an all-natural Wicked Organics fertilizer. (OMRI/NOP claims pending certificate confirmation.)

How Organic Feeding Works: Nutrients release through microbial activity — warm, moist soils process faster, while cold soils below 50°F slow release significantly.

Very Low Burn Risk: The mostly water-insoluble nitrogen makes burn risk very low, but still water in after applying.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Keep sealed.

Coverage: All coverage estimates assume a single application within the recommended rate range.

Why Choose Old Cobblers Farm™?

We build all-natural nutrition that works with your soil, not against it. Wicked Organics 8-3-5 feeds slowly through soil biology, delivers documented secondary minerals, and helps lawns, beds and vegetables stay resilient through heat, drought and wear. (We describe how to use the product, not guaranteed results.)

Application Instructions

-Gardens & beds: 6.25–12.5 lbs / 1,000 sq ft (0.5–1.0 lb actual N / 1,000 sq ft)
-Lawns: 6.25–12.5 lbs / 1,000 sq ft (best during or after core aeration)
-Acres / field: 270–545 lbs / acre
-Containers: 2–3 tbsp per gallon of soil
-Trees & shrubs: apply around the drip line; rate varies by size
Step by step
1. Test your soil first when you can, so you match the rate to your plants’ needs.
2. Choose your rate from the ranges above based on the use and how hungry the plants are.
3. Spread evenly (use a spreader for lawns; work lightly into the top inch of soil in beds).
4. For containers, mix 2–3 tbsp per gallon of soil; for trees and shrubs, apply around the drip line.
5. Water in after applying to start the microbial breakdown that releases nutrients.
6. Reapply 2–4 times per growing season; favor summer stress conditioning and fall recovery.
7. Remember that release slows in cold soils (below 50°F).
What not to do
Do not expect an instant green-up — organic feeding is gradual — and do not exceed the upper rate range or apply when soils are cold and inactive.
