Dissolve, Spray or Drench — Concentrated Kelp Support in Liquid Form

Product Description

Old Cobblers Farm Wicked Organics Soluble Seaweed Extract is a concentrated soluble kelp powder made from North Atlantic Ascophyllum nodosum. Where our dry kelp meal is mixed into the soil, this one dissolves quickly in warm water to make a liquid concentrate you apply as a foliar spray or soil drench — a fast, even way to deliver kelp's natural trace minerals and plant-supporting compounds straight to roots and leaves. A little goes a long way: a small amount of powder makes multiple gallons of ready-to-use solution, which makes it an economical way to feed regularly.

Like all kelp products, it's a biostimulant and supplement rather than a complete fertilizer — its job is to support strong root development, plant vigor, and balanced growth, and to help plants through stressful moments, not to supply the bulk nitrogen and phosphorus a feeding fertilizer provides. Its one guaranteed nutrient is soluble potash (15%); beyond that it carries the naturally occurring trace minerals, sea-derived micronutrients, mannitol (which helps keep minerals available to the plant), and natural plant compounds that kelp is valued for. Pair it with an N-P-K feed for macronutrients and let the seaweed extract round out the rest.

It's especially useful at transplanting (soak root balls before planting), in seed-starting (water trays with a diluted solution to support early roots), and during stress periods — after repotting, relocation, or environmental change — to support recovery. And like our kelp meal, it's a seaweed-only product: fully vegan, with no manure odor and nothing that attracts pets or wildlife, which makes it especially pleasant for indoor and houseplant use.

Key Benefits

Liquid kelp, easy to apply — Dissolves in warm water for a foliar spray or soil drench — fast, even delivery of kelp's compounds to roots and leaves.

Highly concentrated — A small amount makes multiple gallons of ready-to-use solution — economical for regular feeding.

Supports roots & vigor — Kelp's natural compounds support root development and the efficient water and nutrient uptake strong roots provide.

For transitions & stress — Especially useful at transplanting, in seed-starting, and during stress periods like repotting or relocation.

Sea-derived micronutrients — Carries soluble potash, trace minerals, sea-derived micronutrients, and mannitol that help keep minerals available.

Vegan & clean indoors — Seaweed-only — vegan, odor-free, and doesn't attract pets, which makes it especially nice for indoor and houseplant use.

Where to use it: houseplants and indoor collections, vegetable gardens and raised beds, flowers and ornamentals, container and patio plants, trees and shrubs, perennials, seed-starting trays, and lawns.

Application Instructions

Mixing & rates:
-Standard solution: 1 teaspoon per gallon of warm water, dissolved fully
-Garden & raised beds: apply as a soil drench or foliar spray every 3–4 weeks during the growing season
-Houseplants & containers: water with the solution every 3–4 weeks
-Transplanting: soak root balls in the solution before planting
-Seed starting: water trays with the diluted solution to support early root development
-Stress periods: apply after repotting, relocation, or environmental change to support recovery
Steps:
1. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of powder per gallon of warm water and stir until fully dissolved.
2. Apply as a soil drench around the root zone, or as a foliar spray covering the leaves until just wet.
3. For foliar spraying, apply in the cooler parts of the day (early morning or evening), not in strong midday sun, and test a small area first on sensitive plants.
4. Repeat every 3–4 weeks through the growing season, and at transplanting or during stress.
When and how often: every 3–4 weeks in the growing season, plus at transplanting, seed-starting, and during stress.
What NOT to do: don't treat it as a complete fertilizer (it's a kelp supplement — pair with an N-P-K feed), don't foliar-spray in hot midday sun, and don't assume more is better; mix at the label rate.
