What sets it apart is the Vermiculite: blended into the Seed Starter Mix (about 3:1), it improves the media’s moisture-holding and aeration for more consistent germination across all 72 cells. Combined with the step-up transplant pots, seedlings get even moisture during germination, room to grow during development, and a clean transition outdoors.

This kit is media and hardware only — it does NOT include fertilizer or seeds; you supply your own seeds. “Complete” here refers to covering both the germination and transplant stages (tray + pots), not nutrition. To feed developing seedlings once they have true leaves, add a balanced fertilizer such as our Triple 20 (20-20-20), or choose the Pro Kit (this kit plus Triple 20) or Ultimate Kit (dual media plus fertilizer). When sowing, follow each seed’s depth and light requirements — some seeds need light and should not be covered.
